What A Fantastic Surprise

We had a wonderful surprise last Sunday morning. All of our kids were in our church for the first time in 15 yrs. Our oldest son lives in Los Angeles, in the last 6 months he has started dating our middle son's wife's sister. She lives in Columbus, Ohio so he came out to see her and they came down here to see us and his brothers and her sister. I thought that they were going to be here late Sunday evening since they were going to have lunch with her family. So our youngest son called Sunday morning wanting to talk to our pastor and I asked what for and he just made up some kind of an excuse. Then we were to take our little dog(Lucy) to the kid's house before service so that we wouldn't have to go back to Rockville. When we got there our youngest son's car and the middle son's car were in the drive way. So Jim took the dog to the door and they wouldn't let him in, but we were running late so we really did not think anything about it. So we went on to church and service started and we had worship service. Then our Pastor said that we were going to do something that we haven't done for a long time and that was to go greet two or three people that you haven't greeted for a while. So being the dutiful Associate Pastor's wife, I started down the isle to do just that. When Cheryl (our Pastor's wife) came up to me and said turn around. I did and there stood all of my kids. Talk about the tears that started to flow. OH MY !!!!! This was such a surprise and one of the greatest things was that my church family got to enjoy that moment with us. Lisa also brought hers and Amanda's nephew Ethan with them. I had the privilage to hold him when he first came home from the hospital. We were in Nebraska for my husband's mother's funeral. We have had a wonderful friendship with Lisa and Amanda's family since Kurt and Amanda have been married. The girl's mother passed away 5 years ago. She and I were great friends and I miss her so much. Megan (the youngest sister and Ethan's mom) has allowed me to call myself Noni to Ethan and my DH is Pappa to him. Here is a couple of pictures that was taken during the few day that they were here. Keith is going home on the 14th.

I Love Vintage

Good Morning!!! So glad that you could stop by my blog and see some more of my humble attempts at making cards. I see cards that so many of you make and just drool. Went shopping yesterday to get the thing that I am making for Thanksgiving. We are going to our middle son and our daughter in love home. Our youngest will be there also. Our oldest son and his girlfriend will be here on Dec 8th. We haven't seen him for a year and a half when my husband had triple by pass surgery. We are so excited that we will all be together for a few days during the holiday season. This card is on Stampin Up old olive CS. DP from a scrap pack from Hobby Lobby. Buttons from a garage sale. Peeloffs from the UK. Picture I'm not sure where I got it but it is one of my favorites.

This card is on Stampin Up CS and elements from their hodgepodge hardware in antique brass that is discontinued. Flowers from JoAnn's Fabrics. Ribbon from Dollar Tree and picture from public domain.
I just love anything vintage maybe because I am too!!! Isn't it anything over 25 years old. I guess that is in a car LOL!!!
Hope everyone has a great day and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Tis the Season

Today is a beautiful sunny morning here in the Midwest. Yesterday it was cold and raining but the sun is shining today. Starting to make plans for Thanksgiving. How about you? We usually put our tree up Thanksgiving day after all the festivities especially when the boys were home. When we lived in the Bay area we would go to Pier 39 for the lighting of the Christmas Tree which started the Christmas Season. I really love this time of year. So I have a couple more cards to share with you today

The card is kraft paper cards that my husband got at a garage sale for me. Santa stamped on Whisper white card stock, matted on black CS. Stamp and CS are both from Stampin Up Ribbon and buttons are from Walmart.

This card is on Baja Breeze, matted on DP from Hobby Lobby. Snowman is stamped on Whisper white and colored with markers all from Stamping Up. The Matting behind the Snowman is a hologram paper made at a company I used to work for. Ribbon and snowflake is from Dollar Tree.

Have a great day.

Another Christmas Card

I have been making all kinds of cards this last week but have not had time to scan them in but I do have a Christmas card that I have not shown you. This snowman is a sticker with felt edges that I got last year at Hobby Lobby on clearance and so was the stamp. The snow is whisper white from Stampin Up and the card is DCWV.
I won't be posting for a week for we are going to Laurel Mississippi for a conference with the Fellowship that my husband has his Ministerial Licence though. So have a great week and will post again as soon as we get home.

Fall Is In The Air

It is a chilly fall day here in Indiana and the leaves are turning and the air is crisp and I just love this time of year.
The little town that we live in is gearing up for the start of a 10 day festival starting next Friday. It's called the Covered Bridge Festival for we have a lot of covered bridges within a few miles of each other. Each of these places have venders set up with there wares. Some of the farmers clear there corn fields just in time so they can rent them out for parking. They say that we have thousands of people from all over come to this . They even have a day off of school so that they can attend. We live only 3 blocks from the downtown square and that is where most of everything here is set up at and out at Billie Creek where the bridge is at. So we have to put up no parking signs in front of our place so we can even park our own cars. It's loads of fun and lots and lots of different food. So on to the card that I made several weeks ago so enjoy.
Stampin up card stock in Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze. Stamps are retired Touch of Nature by Stampin Up. Stampin up ink in Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze, ribbon and flowers are from Hobby Lobby
Stamped bird on branch first then colored it with ink and waterbrush then covered stamp design with a versamark pen and put clear embossing powder and heat set it. Then I stamped the leaves in Kiwi Kiss and Baja breeze then used my Fiskers oval templates and cut them out. and mounted them on a 41/4 x5 1/2 in card. Stamped leaves on envelope also.
Hope you are having a great day

Christmas Card

Well I'm beginning to think about Christmas and this Noel stamp is one that my husband found at a garage sale for me. In fact he found about 35 that day and I would say that half of them were never used. Plus there was card stock, card packets, embossing powder, 12 ink stamps(most of them had never been opened), stickers and he got it all for $25.00. Stamped this on Stampin Up Black card stock. Used Versamark and gold embossing powder. DP of embossed holly was from Hobby Lobby. Put on Kraft paper cards (they were in the box that my DH got for me). Inside of Card: Stamps were from Stampin Up sets, Sleigh Bells Ring and
Wondrous Gift.
Hope you have a wonderful day

I Love This Stamp Set

As a teenager we lived in the state of Washington and our yard was full of different types of flowers and one of my favorites was our lilac bushes. So when I saw this stamp set from Stampin Up I had to have it.
Stamped the image on Whisper White with Stampin up Eggplant ink, Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive the lighter color is Brilliance pearlescent purple.
The Whisper White was put on Eggplant card stock. Elements and ribbon form Michaels.
The sentiment is from Stampin up and it says my friend.

This picture is the inside of the card.
This is Friday and we are getting ready to go clean the church. So have a wonderful day
